Good Morning

Elynna's mad at me that I made her go take a nap. That girl doesn't go down as easily anymore for her naps :( She has to practice her new skill of standing up in the crib now.

I felt like making pancakes this morning. (Photo is not uploading... it's on my facebook, though)

I got the recipe from Allrecipes.com.
But I added a splash of vanilla, a dash of cinnamon, and did half whole wheat and white flour. Also, I didn't have buttermilk, so I added a teaspoon of vinegar to my whole milk and let it sit for a bit like one of the comments suggested. Voila! Fluffy whole wheat not-buttermilk pancakes.

Hmmmm....She's still crying...

  1. Those pancakes looked delicious, first of all! :o) I LOVE pancakes... let's just say we have them quite frequently, because they are one of Daniel's favorites, too. Lol.

Anyway, it was hard thinking back to whenever it was that Daniel first started standing up in his crib, but I do remember that he started not napping as well at that point either... Just some encouragement. It is a new, cool thing now, so don't worry if she stays awake and plays longer than normal before settling down to sleep. Unless he is very tired, he will sometimes play in his crib for 15 to 25 minutes (sometimes crying for the first few minutes, but then just playing) and he will eventually fall asleep and I think that independent time is good for them anyways! :o) We have one of those mirrors with a few toys on it in his crib and one of the noise maker things that he will turn on and off that he loves to play with! Hope she starts napping better soon!
